Hidden Gems

Not everyone is a fan of Primark and I have to say, I have my moments where I think WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? But today... well liked is not the word! The new collections for aw13 were in and in abundance. The accessories were by far the best! So what actually was supposed to be a quick trip for welly socks for V fest (stay tuned for that post) ended up being a quite expensive adventure.

But how could you turn these little gems down????

As you may be aware from previous blogs, I L.O.V.E frilly socks, so you can imagine my excitement when I came across the new pairs in shades of fallen leaves and quirky patterns! I ended up buying 3 frilly fancies, which was a struggle considering originally I had at least 7 pairs in my hands! After some conflicting feelings, I put the other 4 pairs back(reluctantly).

A cheeky bargain I stumbled across while rooting through the sale section! Great Gatsby Eat your heart out!

<3 Great Gatsby inspired Clutch with a long chain handle <3

I could not believe this was only a tenner! This is going to be worn A LOT over the Winter months! They probably won't have these in stock for long, so if you like... better get moving! A definite statement piece!!!

Primark, you have well and truly outdone yourself... keep it up!

It's a walk in the park

A lazy sunny Sunday afternoon... perfect for a walk in the gardens.

Baggy crop top: Topshop £10
Skater Skirt: Tammy £12
Leather Jacket: Topshop £55
Necklace: Primark £3

This is my favourite casual outfit. It's a pretty standard look, but dressed with the right accessories can look quite cool and edgy. As you can see, my lil skater skirt is from Tammy. Yes the little girl's shop... the one we all LOVED as children, but when I took my cousin in there, I saw this for £12 and was an absolute bargain considering everywhere else I'd seen it was at least £20.

Gold cross ring: River Island £3
Cross midi ring: Adirning Ava £3
Chain rings: River Island £3
Black plait bracelets: Primark £2.50

My bargain necklace for £3 from primarni! Sometimes it
pays to shop around, as Topshop, french connection and Oasis
were selling very similar chains.

My well loved converse, paired with my pink frilly socks. I love this combination and will be sad when I won't get to wear them as much in winter. For an edgier look, wear your frilly socks with boots and chunky sandals. I know its the fashion faux wearing socks and sandals, but in this instance it's a fashion must.

I'm still wearing my purple beaded dolphin anklet. I'm used to wearing that much now, I feel naked without it.

Signing out for now lovelies

Safari Style

Style diaries 4:
While I was in Kenya, I went on an adventure. It was a 5 day drive into the Massai Mara national park, on bumpy dirt tracks, no toilets and a desert like heat. Luckily for us, we took a propeller plane, which was only a cheeky 2 hour flight straight past mount Kilimanjaro! WOW!

Mount Kili from the plane

Anyway, the massai village lodge was my home for the next couple of days and as you can imagine... there wasn't exactly a wardrobe, well for that matter, there wasn't even electric at some points of the day! But I improvised and all was good.

Our little house in the country (without eleccy)

I went all out with my outfit choices. Just because I was on a safari in the middle of what looks like the Lion King set doesn't mean I had to look like a carcass. If there was any a time to wear animal prints, large rimmed tribys and camouflage accessories... this was it!

Rhino Top: River Island £7
Shorts: All saints £45
Bracelets: Primark £2.50
Aviators: Primark £1.50

This was 7am and it was FREEZING hence the shirt buttoned up.

Shirt: H&M £7.99
Hareem pants: Topshop £32
Converse: £45
Frilly Socks: Topshop 3 for £8

Converse and frilly socks are my saviour!

As I mentioned in my other blogs, I wore my hair in a loose braid or a messy bun. It worked a treat with the wind and heat and even better, it was quick and easy to do at 4am in the morning with no eleccy and only my little torch on my iphone as light. Hardcore!

!!!!Bun Mania!!!!

Keep tuned for my next blogs on my style choices during my evening stay at the Massai village and the adventures we got up to.
