Transition ss13 to aw13

Ok so, I always think this time of year is tricky. Trends are becoming last season, and the new collections are beginning to emerge. No one wants to look last season!

The problem arises from wanting to look bang on trend in the new collections, but it's still summer and to wear black, leather and layers is well... just too much! We want to make the most of summer (and our tan). So I thought I'd do a post on how to combine spring summer styles with fall winter styles. I styled my beautiful sister to demonstrate!

Keep the styling simple. Denim was a massive part of ss13 and is constantly growing in momentum for aw13. Ok, I guarantee it won't be light and bleached, but while the sun is still shinning, the denim is still light!

Now by pairing this with a thin knit jumper, you are straight away combining trends. Especially this little example with patched elbows.

Now add a pair of tights for "chillier" days or get the tanned pins out. Heather (My sister) did both! No outfits complete without some chunky boots, brogues or caged sandals, whatever your style is. My sister loves the whole vintage feel, so brogues worked great and matched her vintage shoulder pull string satchel.

Have fun mix matching the new and old trends, but keep it simple and you will definitely pull it off. If you want an edgier feel, just add hats, chunky jewellery, layered bracelets and rings. Fashion is all about interpretation... so get experimenting.
